You can see my last Food Lately post here.

I cannot believe it’s been almost a month since I last wrote about food (my one true love). It’s certainly been a transition and I think you can see that in the food I’m eating too! So let’s dive right in!

Interestingly enough, even though I’ve basically eaten breakfast every day for the last year, moving through all sorts of my routines out of whack, including breakfast. Happy to say, that I’m now getting solidly back into the swing of things. I’m still working on the whole routine thing, but at least I’m eating breakfast every day again! I’m going to call that a solid win! Usually, Casey is already at work when I wake up, but I do relish the days we get to have breakfast together (like those two English muffins with an egg and bacon and one of them has cheese and they were so good).

Date Night Meals
We plan on eating out only one meal per week. Our first “date night” was after a long week of unpacking, so we planned* on getting chinese food and watching Shark Tank on our comfy couches. It was the first time I had had chinese since before moving TO Baltimore almost a year ago! It was so bad but so good.

Casey and I both really enjoy sushi (but not the price tag), so when we decided we were going to go out we thought it would be nicer to have one or two more expensive date nights per month. We went to Mikoto Steakhouse and sat at the sushi bar. Definitely a place we’ll have to come back to.

I’ve been doing most of the cooking at home, even though Casey is the much better chef. But practice maybe makes perfect? We did a taco Tuesday with baked tortillas, ground meat, cheese slices (because we were all out of shredded), and avocado with a spinach salad.

While Casey was out of town last week, I did the grocery shopping and saw this frozen crab-stuffed salmon in a set of two that were on sale. Delicious seafood and on sale? Yes please! I baked for 20 minutes and it was delicious. I also cooked some tomatoes we had as leftovers from something earlier in the week with some spinach. I really really really like cooked tomatoes.

I also feel like whenever I eat mac and cheese I need to have twice as much spinach because since it’s so good it must be so terrible. Pair with chicken breast for the most delicious meal.

Have you eaten anything special lately?
