This weekend was great. As you read that, I hope you can hear the smile that comes across my face because it was just that special. My first St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah was a true success.
Friday night, C and I were both too lazy to cook, so we decided to go to Flacos Tacos. Flacos is one of my favorite taco places because they are super authentic. I was pleasantly surprised to see that on Friday night they were already in the spirit.
I was so excited that my sister was going to be visiting us to celebrate the weekend. We hadn’t really gotten the chance to hang out in a while (The last time was the wedding in November and even that’s not truly hanging out). Unfortunately, due to some flight hiccups she end up spending Friday night in the Charlotte airport. Saturday morning, though, 9 AM I was at the airport waiting to pick her up.
We came home, showered, changed, ate iHop for breakfast, and cheers’ed our first mimosas!
Then we got a little temporary tattoo happy.
I bought these temporary tattoos off Amazon earlier in the week, thinking we’d put one on each cheek. I am pleased to say we put temporary tattoos on our necks, cheeks, thighs, biceps, forearms, and
Eventually, we called a Lyft downtown. C was marching in the parade, so we figured we’d catch up with him when he was done. We had a backpack full of
Finally we got caught up with this guy and headed to Kevin Barry’s. We got to enjoy some live Irish folk music, drinks, and Shepherd’s Pie! Personally, this brought back a lot of memories of St. Patrick’s Days with my sister in matching kilts and wool sweaters listening to Irish folk music and playing with cousins.
After Kevin Barry’s, we headed to City Market to enjoy the rest of the downtown. After spending too much time in line for bars that we couldn’t get into, we found Chazitos (my favorite food truck!) for late lunch.
After a long day, we headed home via Lyft. We ordered a Bacon and Onion pizza from Pizza Hut and played Beeropoly for a couple of hours.
It was a great weekend!
Now I need a weekend to recovery from my weekend.
