Do you remember be talking about my empties campaign? Part of what I’m trying to do is get rid of the things I’ve collected over the years. I’m trying to finish the odds and ends of cosmetics, perfumes, and other similar things around the house. Here’s a snap shot of some of the latest empties I’ve had. As always, you can follow along on BD or by following the specific hashtag #burkedoesempty. Have you ever made an effort to get through the odds and ends in your home?

After my trip to Providence, I went to Nashville! It was SO. MUCH. FUN. We actually went to visit our friends stationed at Fort Campbell, but they did an amazing job of showing us the town. We were there for the Fourth of July and it was just such a blast! A part of me hopes that we’ll end up at Campbell at some point because it’d be amazing to be that close to a big city.

Have you ever had a shrimp bake? We’ve been doing it more and more whenever we get together in these big groups because it’s so easy to put together. So easy. So delicious. And a great way to feed lots of hungry people.

Being downtown with these guys was awesome. Frank was Casey’s roommate when we first started dating and Peter was Casey’s roommate throughout firstie (senior) year. They were amazing and supportive through IBOLC and Ranger. Casey and I are so lucky to have such wonderful supportive lifelong friends. Casey and Pete were groomsmen in the Childers Wedding last year. Casey was also a groomsmen in Frank’s wedding earlier this year. Oh the places we’ve been with these guys. I can’t wait to see them again soon!

I’ve finally started getting back into a really solid routine again, not least of which is because now I’ve got someone else holding me accountable to it… but more on that later. Isn’t this view something?

I got to referee one more time this summer (a last minute add-on) on Saturday! It was the perfect way to wrap up my very first Summer 7s season in NC!
