Oh December, the last month of the year. The chance to finish things and start planning for the new year. Let’s get this done!
Social Media Check-in
November: Twitter, 1434; Instagram, 2514; Pinterest, 1230; Facebook, 653; Bloglovin, 577 = 6408
December: Twitter, 1425 (-9); Instagram, 2509 (-5); Pinterest, 1242 (+12); Facebook, 675 (+22); Bloglovin, 577 (0) = 6428 (+20), 0%
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. My social media is on autopilot. I use Tailwind for Pinterest, Tweetily for Twitter, IFTTT for Facebook, and then I manage my Instagram myself. I appreciate when growth happens, but it’s no longer my primary focus.
Blog // Set up, design, & get BDR functional. FAIL. So I actually made progress on this and have settled on who I will be working on this, but we agreed on a timeline that will stretch this out, so this is going to be worked on in the background. I’m cool with it.
Establish a Morning Routine. SUCCESS. Yep, mornings are now super regular and will stay this way at least until the end of the year. Perhaps I’ll share about it soon.
Financial // Rebuild $1000 Emergency Fund. FAIL. Nope, as I shared two weeks ago, my emergency fund in November ended at $95. Far from the $1000 I wanted to have. This will be the goal again next month.
Fitness // Crossfit 20x this month. FAIL. I only hit the box 18 times this month. This is good, but not good enough. I am going to continue to aim for 16 times each month when I am home for only three weeks.
Finish Smartly Strong!! SUCCESS. Yes! I don’t have my grades yet, but I successfully completed all the coursework, studied, and took my final exam. Fingers crossed!
Complete OM Rails! SUCCESS. I build an app and it works and it’s cool, but I’m not ready to share it with you.
Build // Spend 3 Hours on Learn.Co. FAIL. Not even close, but I’m okay with it. I really started focusing on only doing one thing at a time and this got the cut. Also, I spent lots of time coding (something I now track with Waka Time), so no shame here at all.
There’s a thing I want to do but can’t write about it here. SUCCESS. I got a new job! More details soon!
Professional // Start planning an InGear Career/Tech Ladies thing. FAIL. Nope, I didn’t even start on this. I’ll roll it over to next month. I just met the local InGear Career women this week, so I’m very excited by the possibility of getting these things going.
Savor // Plan a surprise date night for Casey! FAIL. I didn’t because we didn’t have the chance with travel and Thanksgiving and Casey having to work over the weekends, but we did spend enough time focused on each other that I’m okay with it. We went on one Applebees lunch time date that was phenomenal.
Blog // Finish 2017 Editorial Calendar & Put it into Asana. I’ve been working through By Regina’s Epic Blog Planner and it’s been great. I feel good about how I’ve brainstormed the content and now I’m going to be working through finalizing things and putting them in place! This will let me plan my Instagram content (next focus) and then the new products and courses I’ll be developing and rolling out over the year.
Productivity // Expand morning routine into the day, until lunchtime. I feel really good about my morning routine, but I’d like to extend my routine-ness into lunch time. This should include eating times.
Financial // Rebuild $1000 Emergency Fund. I should be able to squeeze some extra freelance income this month to cover the <$100 difference to hit this goal. This is the primary financial goal for the month.
Fitness // Figure out working out while traveling. My new job will require monthly travel, so I will need to figure out how to keep working on my Crossfit and fitness goals. I don’t want this new job to kill m traction.
Learn // Finish First $500 Course from Latisha Styles and start OM Ruby (December 12). I’m only focusing on one thing at a time. I know that I probably sounds like a broken record about this, but it’s something I need to constantly be reminding myself. I’m going to focus on some other things before plunging into this First $500 Course from Latisha. The deadline is to be done with that course before OM Ruby starts on December 12.
Build // Just keep tinkering with my web app for at least 30 minutes per week. This is just tinkering. I’m going to be spending some time continuously making it better.
Home // Go through the craft supplies on the bottom of the bookshelf and decide what stays and what goes.
Professional // Start planning an InGear Career/Tech Ladies thing.
Savor // The Holidays and Decorating and Being with Casey. Our tree is up and our decorations, though sparse (because decorations are expensive), are enough to keep our house feeling holiday-ish.
Any exciting goals for the month?
